Bhagalpur: Fire claims one life, destroys 106 houses in Bihar


In a major fire broke out in Kumaitha-Navtolia village that razed 100 houses, 18 month-old boy was charred to death and four others suffered burns, said additional collector Bhavesh Mishra.

A baby passed on of consumes, four others endured consumes and 106 houses were gutted in isolated occurrences in Bhagalpur area of Bihar today. Extra Collector Bhavesh Mishra said that a noteworthy fire softened out up Kumaitha-Navtolia town and bulldozed 100 houses, for the most part covered ones, in which a 18 month-old kid, was scorched to death and four others endured consumes.

In a different occurrence, six houses were wrecked in a burst at Tilakpur town. The fire began in the kitchen and spread to the encompassing zones in both the cases. Properties worth lakhs were gutted in the influenced towns, where save and alleviation work was in progress, he said. An ex-gratia of Rupees four lakh will be given to the little child’s family, the Additional Collector said.
